Alpine Twilight

The beams of sunlight blasting through the cloud looked heavenly.

Brule Lake

This was taken with my iphone 4s and an App called 360. This is just the first of many so the image quality will get better as I learn the finer points of panoramic imaging.

Gray Wolf (Canis Lupus)

I spotted this Gray Wolf about 5 Km east of Pocahontas turn-off  on highway 16. This wolf was waiting for an elder and a younger wolf to catch up.

Beautiful Winter Morning In Jasper National Park

It was a clear beautiful morning today and I felt the need to get away from the concrete jungle. I am glad I did. :)

Stopped at a rest stop and climbed up this rock to see the elevated view. Sometimes the best things are found off the beaten path.

Breath-taking any time of year.

Lunar Eclipse Of December 2011

This was at about 6:00 a.m. The sky was still brightly lit by the moon light.

At this point the sky was beginning to dim. The brownish red shadow of earth over the moon was faintly blending into the ambient light it gives into our atmosphere. This is at approx. 6:30.

About 7:00 a.m. as the last sliver of the suns reflective light is eclipsed the moon is engulfed in a brownish red color. The sky is very dark and the stars are very visible.  This moment for me was one of deep thought and reflection. I pondered about the importance of love and compassion and living life in a more positive way.  All of creation is a miraculous gift and should be treated as such. :)

Lunar Rainbow

The moon in the hours before the Lunar Eclipse...

The moon tonight was really bright and its light created a rainbow in the light mist hovering underneath.
